Getting ready for Advent.

Started decoration for advent. I put up a few decorations that are in the purple and pink theme until about the 3rd week of advent. Then we begin decorating with our Christmas decorations. The nativity scene will go up this week also.

Teens can make a difference in the Pro Life cause

After almost a year of prodding I have finally succeeded. My second son just finished a power point presentation that he hopes to use to go into the Catholic schools and local youth groups. My kids have been actively involved in a Pro Life group. They go to the March for Life and pray at the abortion clinic occasionally but I think they can make a bigger difference. I truly believe that the way to change this horror in our country is to educate people. If people realize how horrible abortion is they won't resort to it and it won't matter if it is legal or not. Until people realize that I feel it is an uphill battle. This younger generation can really make a difference and I thought it would be great for teens to teach other teens who may not be hearing the truth. So, hopefully my son will get teams together in the next couple of weeks and start the education process. With a little guidance they can do more than say they are pro-life but teach and convince their peers that this is the TRUTH!

Snow Ball 2009



Me before the party next to the island.

 We held a ball for about 70 teens last winter. I decorated the house and prepared food. Here are some pictures from my tables. I love preparing themed parties. We called it a Snow Ball so all the decorations were Christmas and snow related. The kids came dressed formally, long dresses and suits. We would have done it again but we didn't think our house could take that many kids dancing again.


I labelled all the food so the kids would know what everything was to avoid waste.

Teen Halloween Party 2010

Halloween party at our house for the teens. I love decorating for the party.

We had about 40 teens for the party. I have more pictures of table decorations for other holidays and events.

This is my laundry room before the overhall. I store all outgrown clothes in tubs that are labelled.

After

Each tub is labelled with a number and I keep a notebook with a list of what is in each tub. Some are clothes and some are items that we are saving.
